Fairly poor audience recording. Drums very wooden and muffled. Smith hardly audible
One of three gigs featuring stand-in Adrian Flanagan on guitar, and on this evening covering for the missing Julia Nagle on the keyboards. A pity this is such a poor recording as the band seems extremely tight and Adrian is coping well with the double shift.
A good mix of oldish and the newer material but frankly a bit of a trial to listen to with some serious wow/flutter volume movement. Unless someone has a cleaner version of this its only value is a record of this unique line up of the band.
As usual Hanley stands out as the bedrock. Interesting takes on most songs as Flanagan adds different nuances and the odd unique angle on the material. His guitar style is particularly visceral with long processed notes and chords which thickens the sound considerably.
The stand out track is a speedy version of "US80s90s" with some particularly good drum, bass, guitar interplay and someone great yelping from Smith.
