Appears to be a soundboard. S Cookes Gigography lists two tracks that I have not got. If anyone has an alternate version with the missing tracks please advise.

Ghent = municipality and district in the province of East Flanders and the gruppes one and only gig in this location.

Excellent quality recording with perfect separation and mix on all instruments.Excellent drumming and bass from Si and Steve, Brix and Craig are restrained and perfectly placed - Marcia adds colour and verve.

A mix of material from "Oranj" and "Frenz" era and a few oldies

High powered and volatile show from the get go, Polished performance of the highest quality. Utterly professional and extremely well played. Challenging in some respects but generally this is too smooth and polished for a Fall gig for me apart from the occasional snippet of wisdom from Smith (eg berating Si Wolstencroft for being a "cardy lad").

I feel vaguely cheated by this - a sort of pseudo xenochrony as the band appears to be playing live to an non-existent audience - almost too perfect in its exposition could even be karaoke. There will be any number of Fall fans who got into the band at this time who will see this as the holy grail. For me its a bit by the numbers.

The best thing by far is a wonderfully semi-scabrous version of "Rates" however this is somewhat ruined by a cheesy synth sound replacing the open string guitar below the nut plucking on the original on "Grotesque".

Full of wonder but somehow flat. Get it if you like pop perfect late 80s Fall.
