For my original review of this I said "anyone who has a full copy of this that does not sound that is was recorded by a deaf Mackerel splitter from Stoke Poges then please advise. A fairly poor audience tape which sounds like it was recorded in the bogs or somewhere about a quarter of a mile away". Thanks to "Ocelot" I now have a full and very well recorded version.

Fairly robust affair - dominated by a lenghty "Damo" which suffers from seriously out of tune guitaring in places. Other than that workmanlike performances of the contemporary material in which Julia and Ben dominate. Good version of "Bucks" which features the obligatory snippets of "Dropout Boogie" which prevailed at this time.

There is a walk-off between "Damo" and "Way Round". "And Therein" is a little constipated. "Ibis Afro Man" is just plain weird but perversely makes sense in a live setting. After an encore break and some techno keyboard splurges a la Rick Wakeperson there is a loud version of "Hot Runes" which stands up quite well. Also a heavy rock version of "Paintwork" which suffers from depth by a thousand arpeggios in a Jethro Tull stylee - the original core of the song is just about discernable via Mr Smith but all in all this a slovenly pub-rock work out. Band concludes the evening with another version of "Touch Sensitive" for some reason.

I said "poor recording and some dodgy playing. Not essential" first time round - the Ocelot version is much better and the band comes across more coherently albeit its not as tight as you would like.
