Audience recording. Mostly very clear - bass dominates and guitars/keys are a little distant at first but then settles down. Vocals exceptionally clear if a little lost in the big hall dynamic.

Part of the Peel Sessions Live Festival curated by the wondrous Mr Peel (doh!). Band is very tight and Smith very focused. Neville gets a bit of a caning during "Librans" for messing up his guitar chords. This was to be Tom Heads' last gig with the band.

Most songs are well played - however "Antidotes" onwards it all gets most peculiar - Mark is singing it but i'm not sure what the band are up to. "Sons of Temperance" also gets a little muddled in the middle especially with a very peculiar falsetto from Mark. "Insekt" is all over the place timing wise.

Matters are returned to normal with a short snippet of poetry from Mark and then a blistering "Joke" but then get a bit constipated with a sparse and listless "Student" which pales in comparison to the preceeding number and has some serious microphone feedback whistling,

"On my own" is mostly midi driven with MES losing his way somewhat over the repetition and making acerbic comments about Neville and Adam. Wilding plays a few echoey high notes which seem a little out of place. "Ketamine Sun" is long and a little listless and "Bucks" is short and strangely out of kilter. "Levitate" is most peculiarly laid back seemingly just one guitar and drums for most of the song. "Eve" is also a little sloppy and features so more histrionics from Mr Smith and fades out on my copy. Stefan's gigography says "Hands up Billy" was played however its not on the recording I have.

A very peculiar affair not helped by the sound in the hall. Worth getting to hear Mr Peel eulogising about the band.
