Excellent radio capture unfortunately not all of the recording is available hereabouts. There is some fading and such like on my version which I assume is to do with cutting out DJ verbalisations.
Band is in good form tonight and beginning to get its act togetther - Mark makes a sarcy comment at the beginning about them being on stage in time to start the gig.
I've moaned about this bands version of "Fiery Jack" before but tonight I have to eat my words - this is an excellent version - keeping well to the spirit of the original. The violin parts on "Sing! Harpy" are handled by some excellent harmonic control from either Bramah or a keyboard patch from Schofield - hard to tell the difference.
Marcia's "trumpet" patch at the beginning of "Kurious" is a bit dodgy and the whole think feels a little too slow for my liking. Whereas the quickening "Littlest Rebel" - despite some feedback problems - is much better, and has some great Hanley fills.
"Bill is dead" feels a little flat to me. Usually triumphant this Fall classic seems somewhat laboured and if my ears dont decieve Hanley has a tuning problem.
A less heavy metal version of "I'm Frank" than hitherto has a little more about it but Craig's slide is less subtle than previous and dominates the sound.
A false start to "Telephone" gets things slightly out for a bit and its all a bit rushed - not sure the band has got its timing quite right on this evening - it sort of settles down but tends to ramble.
Apparently "Big New Prinz" was played but not on my version.
A mixed bag - typical of this years output. OK for the clarity but not the band at their best.
