Interesting concept. A very, almost perfect, clear recording of a Fall gig where you can only really hear the vocals, bass and guitar. Keys and Drums are mere echoes as the soundboard focuses on the guitars and MES. Not sure which recording Dave Thompson is referencing in "A user's guide to The Fall" but it is not this release - my guess he is listening to the Marquee gig in December and not this one.
So if you can get your head round an essentially drummer less and keyboard bereft gruppe this is well worth a listen as you can here Riley's very accomplished bass playing, Martin's fleet guitar and some wonderous vox from MES and Martin.
I recommend you buy the expanded "LATW" and then you get it for nowt.
