Good recording. Band feels very close and sound is good.

An absolute embarassment of pithy Smithyisms resonate throughout the whole set as does an exemplary vocal performance from Mark who at times seems like he is channeling some angst ridden spirit.

The band is in great form with some exceptional playiing.

Matters commence with a jokey "Good evening, we are The Fall. We're here to make up for all the silly love bands who label (or possibly labour) us Mancunians." before an astrigent  "Container Drivers".

The rarely played (only seven live outings) "Before the Moon Falls" commences with - " Audibility... I'm going deaf I think, anyway. This is one we haven't done for two years. But we're gonna do it tonight because it's pretty in vogue now. Haha! It's pretty misery-ass orientated. You get that? Miserable-orientated."  There are them some interesting lyrical variations including  "There's a theory that the world... we live in the centre of the world. And therefore the sun is the centre of the world. And the moon falls once every two million years." Implifying that the fifth falling is due soon.

An audience member calls "Rowche Rumble!" before a scabrous near genius version of "Winter".  Mark advises said peron: "Well, that was the hit section. Wrong thought!". The mad kid section in this song is breathtaking.

After "Winter" a Paisleyite says "fecking rubbish" and Smith weaves a baleful "shut your face" into the opening lines of "English Scheme". More audience abuse follows and leads to an angry violent version of "Pay Your Rates" with some excellent guitar chordage which gets a great response. Further calls for "Rowche Rumble" fall on deaf ears as the band power into an exquisite reading of "Capitol".

Mark complains "One... one! I still can't hear meself up here. I think I've got a bit of wax in my ears. Is there any monitors, Grant? Please... thank you. I just want to hear my self." before a great performance "Elastic Man" which features some exemplary bass from Paul. Mark plays with the words at the end adding "How did you write that book.....".

Probably one of the better readings "Hobgoblins" is improved by some excellent guitar work.

"Right, we're gonna do a long cabaret number now. This is entertainment for you."  introduces a lengthy "The N.W.R.A."

The gig finishes with an admission- "We didn't work a set out so what you got tonight was a series of lectures. This is the final one."

An altogether excellent gig and well worth a listen.
