A good audience capture albeit a touch mono. All instruments and vocals well presented and little if any audience noise. EPs synth dominates a little. I'm guessing that the flaretastic HPAFB was there that is one of his.
This is one of those foot to the floor performances everything taken at a hell of a pace, breathless in fact. A fairly standard set list from this tour with btutal speedy version of the songs from "Fall Heads Role". Even Aspen seems to be at double time - although Mark's vocal is laconic enough.
The one to point out is the shuffling version of "Mountain Energie" complete with Ben Pritchards little arpeggiating guitar twiddles in a Country and Western stylee which he transforms into some sort of 60s descending chord thing in the choruses. Trafford plays a particularly good bass on this.
A little chuckle from MES launches a rousing "Assume" - Mark launches in guttural animal noises throughout the centre section. "WPRT" is very good but "Grass" is a tad rushed. "Touch" is manic and Mark messes up the lyrics....and he advises us he is "living in a pawn shop". At 3 minutes Mark enters in a long peroration about who might have written the song - and advises it was a combination of (e) and (f) on his list.
Matters conclude, as they usually they did on this tour, with a lenghty "Blindness" - there is some high pitched synth squawling from MES at the start and some good playing but it doesnt quite capture the cohones of the better versions of the tune.
Two short encores - again at light speed are tight and well delivered. On the closing number a microphone seems to have got into the crowd as there some extraneous additional vox. As the band leaves the stage encores are called for in an Anglo Saxon fashion and a "version" of "Rowche Rumble" is performed.
Not the best gig on the tour but well worth a listen.
