There are two versions of this circulating the review that follows is of the Ocelot Version.
The alternative Otalgia version features a section of the Safi Sniper performance and Marks voice is a little more distant but the band is a little more seperate, Elena tends to dominate.
The Ocelot is a good quality audience recording. Moderate audience chatter. Mark very clear - band tends to be a bit of a wall of sound but all in all very good.
Fascinating opening piece - very dense riffing and tension and release. The usual gallop through "PJ", a lenghty "My Door" which is very relaxed, and a triumphant "Fall Sound". Things get a bit more focused on "Sparta" and "Freaks" is, as usual, an exposition of the quality of this band and indeed the relevance of Frank/Marks lyrics in Britain/US today (2007) is vital and somewhat chilling. Mark deviates from the set-list and calls for "White Lightning" and "The Wright Stuff" after "Over! Over!". Back on track thereafter with a mammoth reading of "Systematic Abuse" followed, after a short encore break, by an equally gargantuan "Reformation" with apparently Mr Smith performing in a state of undress from the dressing room area. The band wallop the hell out of the tune from about 5 minutes in - stunning tour de force - with Mark extemporising, trilling madly and exhorting the band to greater heights. Some exceptional noises coming from Tim's guitar herein.
Excellent set list and balance of material.
