A field recording by Timpers Jim in which only those with numbers alongside are captured. Both Jim and myself would like anyone who has a full capture to share it with the wider trading community. Jim feels that this is not a great recording however those of us in the repository network would congratulate Jim on his efforts which, despite his advanced age, are rather good. Our only recommendation would be that he purchases his audio capture equipment from Argos in future rather than a flea market in Nether Alderley. In all seriousness the main problem with the recording is with Mark's voice which is a bit lost in the big hall dynamics of SGH.

After the extemporative noodlings of "Insult>Bad" we are blessed with probably the best version of the much maligned "Systematic Abuse" on the whole of the Spring 2007 tour. Perhaps an indication that it ought to be played earlier in the set to realise its full potential.

To me "Wrong Place" has a feel of "Hungry Freaks" about it - the band has this amiable loping style which is incredibly laid back and feels like it was brewed somewhere on the delta. "PJ" has very noisy guitar and suffers a little balance wise. Things are recovered with an excellent "Fall Sound" taken a breakneck pace.

This is a story about Blindness....says MES and we are presented with 12 minutes plus of dense and unforgiving wonder. The band builds for a while before Mark enters with direct and spikey vox. The sound does fluctuate badly on this but the sense of the thing and its direct impact on the synapses is palpable. The last three minutes are a seriously intense piece of playing.

Unfortunately there are only just over two minutes of "Wright Stuff" captured for posterity.

This recording is probably only for the diehard fan but if you want to hear a perfect "Systematic" and "Blindness" albeit not in hi-fi then this is a must.

All hail Mike for the recording.....
