Two versions of this exist they appear be the same taping but the second is of slightly higher audio quality I assume some tweaking has been done.
This is a reasonable audience tape somewhat ruined by inane chatter and shrieking laughter from a nearby poltroon. Smith's voice is audible but somewhat echoey and boomy at times.
The second is far superior with great clarity but unfortunately still some chatter but not as intrusive and Smiths vox is much cleaner in the mix.
Well rounded performance featuring a variety of material. The opening "Error-Orrori" is unfortunately short as it is compelling - the riff dominating and Smith intoning thule incantations.
There is interesting guitar work throughout the gig sometimes it works, sometimes it sounds like bad guitar rock. There is some significant playing by the band on this gig - the interactions are particularly tight. There is some fascinating scrapy slide guitar work on "Jerusalem".
A fantastic "Bill is Dead" is the centre point of a fine set - dominated by material from "Extricate" but also mining recent singles and older material. "Bremen Nacht" and "US80s 90s" are delivered with considerable energy with Smith yelping like an animal at times.
Version one not essential due to the audience intrusions. Version Two much better and well worth a listen.
